About Me
I'm Dustin Hatzenbuhler. Although it was just four years ago when I first printed "Hello, World" on a computer screen, I have been indirectly acquiring the skills needed for software development for most of my life through music. As a self-taught musician and producer, I was determined to make a living right out of high school performing and releasing music. After an album release in 2012 and a short appearance on NBC's "The Voice," I have since toured in 41 states and grown a sizable fanbase all over the world by creating music and videos on YouTube. One thing that has remained constant over that time is my interaction with computers and technology. In 2019, I decided to take it one step further and teach myself how to write software. After completing Harvard's CS50: Introduction to Computer Science course in early 2020, I had a solid foundation to begin a new career in software development.
I approach writing software in the same way I approach writing music: start with a grand idea, and then reverse engineer that idea into smaller parts, tackling each little bit at a time. I am confident that my unique background, my affinity for tinkering with technology, and my corporate experience as a full-stack engineer will be a valuable addition to any team.
